THE STORY BEHIND SHIPWRECK

Before KAI, there was The Pirate Ship. Joey and Kelsey rebuilt a 50-foot sailboat in San Diego, called it home, and sailed 2,500 miles south to Nicaragua. For three unforgettable years, they chartered the Nicaraguan coastline, sharing the adventure with thousands of people from around the world. Then everything changed. While Joey was back in the States recovering from a paragliding accident, a historic hurricane struck Nicaragua's Pacific coast. Despite every effort to save her, The Pirate Ship was lost along with every boat in the bay. That shipwreck ultimately brought Joey back to Colorado-and set him on the path that would become KAI.SHIPWRECK is a tribute to the adventure that came before it all.

Vision

Artsy's first collaboration with a dispensary, Shipwreck is more than an epic breeding project: it's a celebration of shared culture between two companies, of art, and of friendship. Both Artsy & KAI owners are from Grand Junction, so it was especially significant for KAI that a company as celebrated as Arsty would choose its first dispensary collaboration to be one with roots right here in the Grand Valley.

Born from friendship and built to weather a hurricane or cruise through calm waters, Shipwreck is an indica-dominant phenotype of Gypsy Soap, featuring Gelato × Sherbert genetics, backcrossed with Animal Cookies. Selected as a standout in our Gypsy Soap seed hunt, Shipwreck set itself apart with one-of-a-kind curb appeal and robust terpene profile. It’s a reminder that even after the roughest storms, brighter skies lie ahead- sometimes you just need the right strain to help you find them.
